Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service while managing various administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology, scheduling, and the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Please do not apply if you do not have previous experience as a medical receptionist Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic. Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations using EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with professionalism and effective phone etiquette. Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance verification processes. Collect payments and manage medical collections as necessary. Maintain accurate medical records by performing documentation reviews and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Assist in the intake process for new patients by gathering necessary information and preparing care plans. Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence using Microsoft Office applications. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient office management and patient service delivery. Requirements Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is required Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office applications Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure. Knowledge of health information management principles and practices is an asset.
