Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient appointment scheduling. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software and coordinate with clinical staff. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Review and update medical records, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate within EHR systems. Experience with Tebra (Kareo) preferred but not required. Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and professionally. Assist with billing processes including medical collection activities to support accurate medical billing. Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure compliance with health information management standards. Support clinical staff by preparing intake forms, reviewing documentation, and assisting with care plan coordination when needed. Perform clerical duties such as data entry, typing reports, and using Microsoft Office tools to support office management. Skills Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Knowledge of medical terminology and Medicare guidelines. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security. Proven ability in insurance verification and collection processes. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette. Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key), Microsoft Office suite, and office management software. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively, but are not required. Previous clinic or medical office experience is highly desirable to navigate fast-paced environments confidently.
