Job Description
Medical Receptionist The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate competency in friendly and accommodating service to our clients and their families both in person and on the telephone, experience using computers and software, schedule management, and efficient handling of financial transactions. Experience working in customer service and in a medical setting is a strong preference. Must be highly motivated, and willing to learn quickly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with patient appointments, including registration, electronic record entry, check-in, check-out, and follow-up actions. Complete patient phone calls including, but not limited to, proactive care coordination, appointment reminders, transitional care management, and documentation of encounters. Perform office procedures, including all general administrative duties. Prepare medical instruments or equipment for use. Prepare patient treatment areas for use. Prepare medical billing information. Record vital statistics or other health information. Clean patient rooms, patient treatment rooms, and medical equipment as needed. Document into the electronic medical record all interactions.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Displays customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, close attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Be a person of integrity and character, willing to embrace change and make a positive impact in the lives of patients and co-workers. Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner. Displays computer proficiency (i.e. Apple computers and MS Office) and ability to quickly learn new applications. Preferred ability to type 40 wpm. Proficient in use of the English language, both in written and verbal communication. Professional demeanor and practice of privacy rights for patients and families. Must be able to accurately and efficiently prioritize multiple tasks.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strength (Lift/Carry/Push/Pull): Light-Medium (exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally). Requirements for most of the workday: Standing/Walking/Keyboarding/Dexterity/Computer Monitor Viewing. Ability to perform constant repetitive hands and finger motions. Must be able to be mobile and work in various positions (standing, sitting, bending, and walking) for extended periods of time.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma. Maintain Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
