Job Description

Western Massachusetts Allergy, LLC is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist for our Allergy and Immunology practice in Springfield, MA. We are searching for a friendly, outgoing, compassionate candidate with the ability to multitask, who is excited to help people, able to work independently and as part of a team, and with a drive for continual improvement. The practice uses a modern EHR (eClinicalWorks) with the goal of automating repeated processes, facilitating communication, and reducing paperwork. Primary Responsibilities Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor during all patient interactions Answering a multi-line phone system Greeting patients as they arrive and helping them check in Verifying demographics in the EHR Ensuring relevant forms have been completed in the EHR Collecting payments (copays and outstanding balances) Scheduling appointments Requesting medical records from outside providers Coordinating outgoing referrals, imaging, and testing This description is intended to provide a basic guideline for meeting the job requirements. Responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and working conditions may change as needs evolve. Work Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm four days per week; one evening day (10:00am-6:30pm) per week No weekends Generous holiday policy Requirements Medical office reception experience required — general customer service experience without a healthcare setting will not be considered Insurance authorization experience required — candidates must have hands-on experience verifying insurance eligibility and processing authorizations Allergy, immunology, or specialty practice experience strongly preferred Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) strongly preferred Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred — candidates with demonstrated fluency will receive additional compensation incentives Positive attitude and desire to contribute to the success of the practice Cheerful, welcoming demeanor with strong multitasking ability Benefits 401(k) Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life and Disability Insurance Paid time off and Paid Holidays Personal improvement stipend A happy, professional place to work!
