Job Description
What You Will Do:
The Medical Records Analyst provides quantitative and qualitative analysis of medical records as it relates to face to face, CTI, verbal orders, and service agreements for the home care & hospice division. The Medical Records Analyst has an understanding of reimbursement issues relating to the effect on timely order processing. This analyst ensures charts have appropriate documentation through timely filing and through knowledge and application of the requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, state statutes and other regulating agencies. Additional duties include answering phones, pulling charts for box inventory and storage, data entry, report retrieval, and release of information as needed.Responsibilities:
Monitors completed verbal orders, CTI's, service agreements and F2F medical record documentation. Maintains open records logs for outstanding records/orders Work with Intake department on obtaining verbal CTI's within 2 days. Stays knowledgeable on all regulatory changes as it relates to these documents. Educates back up staff on new process or procedures as related to medical records operations. Work with physician offices to get all orders and incomplete orders signed on a timely bases. Communicate with clinical staff on completing outstanding documentation. Monitor compliance with completed records timelines-notify leaders of all variances. Back up to switchboard.What you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology, Health Sciences, or higher preferred. Medical terminology knowledge Prior home care experience in medical records required. Very strong customer service skills required.
