Job Description

Medical Records Assistant Part Time - 3 days a week 6 hours per day (preferably Monday, Tuesday, and Friday) Job Summary An individual who performs a variety and simple routinely clerical tasks in the processing of various documents and operating a copying machine. Key Responsibilities Include the following (Other duties may be assigned): Mail all doctors' orders and documents received from respective employees and contractors or physicians or employees. Log all doctors' orders mailed to and received from patient physicians. Coordinate with the Nursing Department regarding doctors' missing in the patients' charts or not received from physicians or employees. Assist in filling all documents received from physicians or employees into Patients' charts. Make copies of all bulletins and memoranda received from the Department of Health and Medicare for distribution to departments concerned. Monitor all forms used for each disciplines' documentation and ensure availability at all times. Copy all paperwork needed for patients' initial evaluation. Complete request form to purchase necessary office forms that are low in stock. Required Qualificatons High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
