POSITION PURPOSE
The Medical Staff Coordinator position is responsible for providing best practice administrative management services for all aspects of the medical staff organization. The position is expected to lead by example with self-confidence by exemplifying Holy Cross Medical Center's mission, vision and values. The position exemplifies a strong work ethic and models professionalism by collaborating with practitioners and leadership to implement improvements. The position adapts to effectively dealing with different situations and people, responding professionally when confronted with changes, adversity and other work-related pressures. The position is responsible for managing practitioner competency systems, maintaining policies and procedures and other documents and will be responsible for developing systems that support the medical staff and hospital's mission and strategic plan. A key performance area will be regulatory and accreditation knowledge and compliance.MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two (2) years of working experience in a medical, service-related or equivalent field and knowledge of diverse and comprehensive systems and functions (credentialing, privileging, meeting management, performance improvement, database management, governance, regulatory compliance, leadership development and operations process) performed in a medical staff services department.EDUCATION
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE).MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced knowledge of provider schedule management and utilization. Demonstrates leadership qualities: takes accountability, uses initiative, takes risks, thinks strategically, possesses critical thinking skills, promotes change, uses good judgment, seeks guidance as needed, serves as a mentor, inspires and motivates others. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with practitioners, staff, patients and the community. Experience leading diverse teams; exhibiting strong leadership, facilitation and collaboration skills while fostering a climate that encourages positive staff and practitioner morale and commitment. Strong computer (Microsoft and Excel) skills. Excellent written skills are necessary to develop policies, procedures and other documents. Requires the constant exercise of a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in response to complex, sensitive issues, decision-making and discretion. Requires limited direction and guidance. Strong organizational skills. Ability to analyze data, make recommendations and implement plans.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a medical or service related field, or equivalent work experience. National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS).
