Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Technician, where your expertise will drive critical medication management and support groundbreaking recording. In this role, you will perform essential laboratory adminstration of medication, manage specimen collection and processing, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data vital for patient care and scientific advancement. Responsibilities Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens such as blood, tissue, and other samples using aseptic techniques and laboratory best practices. Perform laboratory assays including ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (polymerase chain reaction), flow cytometry, immunoassays, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and blood banking procedures. Manage laboratory data meticulously using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ensure accurate documentation of results for clinical trials and research studies. Conduct routine laboratory management tasks such as inventory control, equipment calibration, maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols. Assist in clinical trial sample preparation, specimen collection/processing, and blood sampling while maintaining high standards of specimen integrity. Apply physiology knowledge and medical terminology to interpret test results accurately within the context of patient care or research objectives. Support laboratory team members by performing venipuncture (blood draws), vital signs measurement, and other phlebotomy procedures with precision and professionalism. Skills Strong data management skills with experience in analyzing complex datasets related to laboratory assays and clinical results. Proficiency in performing molecular biology techniques such as RNA extraction, DNA isolation, PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunoassays. In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures including specimen collection/processing, blood banking, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with laboratory management systems (LIMS) for data entry, tracking samples, and reporting results accurately. Clinical laboratory experience with a focus on hospital or research settings; understanding of medical terminology and anatomy is highly valued. Ability to perform venipuncture (blood sampling), blood banking procedures, and monitor vital signs effectively. Excellent laboratory techniques combined with strong attention to detail; capable of following complex protocols while maintaining safety standards. Knowledge of physiology principles relevant to blood sampling, specimen handling, and diagnostic testing processes.
