Medical Technologist

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to support clinical diagnosis, research, and patient care. This role requires a strong foundation in laboratory techniques, specimen processing, and data management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. The Medical Technologist will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to deliver reliable results that inform treatment decisions and advance medical research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct a variety of laboratory tests including immunoassays, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), flow cytometry, and other molecular and cellular assays Manage specimen collection, processing, and preparation, including venipuncture, blood sampling, and RNA extraction Perform blood banking procedures and ensure proper handling of blood products Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and laboratory safety protocols Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data entry, sample tracking, and report generation Analyze complex data sets related to clinical trials or research projects, ensuring accuracy and integrity Document all procedures meticulously in compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory policies Support laboratory management activities including inventory control, quality assurance, and compliance audits Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret results within the context of physiology knowledge and medical terminology Stay updated on advances in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and clinical practices to enhance operational efficiency

Skills:

Extensive experience in clinical laboratories with proficiency in assays such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and blood banking procedures Strong data management skills with familiarity in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Expertise in specimen collection techniques including venipuncture and phlebotomy Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, vital signs measurement, and blood sampling procedures Ability to perform complex laboratory techniques such as DNA isolation, RNA extraction, and blood banking procedures accurately Excellent understanding of laboratory management principles including quality control, inventory management, and regulatory compliance Proficient in medical terminology relevant to clinical diagnostics and laboratory operations Experience working within hospital or research laboratory environments with a focus on clinical trials or research studies Strong analytical skills for data analysis related to experimental results or patient samples Effective communication skills for documenting findings clearly and collaborating with healthcare teams This position offers an engaging opportunity for qualified professionals eager to contribute to impactful healthcare services through precise laboratory work.
