Job Description
Medication Manager/Shift Supervisor Job Description:
As a Medication Manager, you should demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure steady workflow and uninterrupted service in our medication department.Responsibilities:
- Starts shift by communicating with staff members.
- Ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations.
- Complete Quality Assurance Monitors as directed by the Administrator.
- Review MARS for signatures alerting the Med Techs if information is not completed.
- Ensures medications are ordered in a timely manner.
- Seek clarification when needed from physician using proper facility forms.
- Assist with MAR review prior to the end of the month before MARs are sent to the Pharmacy for correction.
- Communicate concerns regarding medications and/or staff to the Administrator in a timely manner.
- Ensure medical appointment sheets are returned to the case manager once medication changes are reviewed.
- Complete Cart Audits and check for expired medications in the carts.
- Provide constructive feedback to staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide medication assistance to residents as ordered by their physician. Qualifications
- Facility Medication Trained
- Understanding of resident rights
- Understanding of staff responsibilities
- Ability to communicate/report resident and staff needs and/or concerns
- Ability to adhere to NYSDOH regulations
- Communication and problem-solving skills
Job Types:
