Job Description
Pittsford Federal Credit Union has served our members for over 57 years, providing financial resources, competitive products, and world-class service. The credit union's growth continues: PFCU is currently the fourth-largest Rochester Area credit union. At the end of March 2026, our assets surpassed $544 million while serving over 21,000 members and organizations. Pittsford Federal Credit Union exists solely to provide friendly, member focused financial services. The volunteer Board of Directors and the entire Pittsford FCU team strive to efficiently exceed member expectations while ensuring that we remain a sound, stable financial institution .
Role Format:
Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Salaried, 100% In-Person/0% Remote Position Summary The primary responsibility of a PFCU Member Service Representative is to provide the full spectrum of branch member service activities, including transaction processing, new member enrollment, and specific service explanation and support. Member Service Representatives work closely with other team members. Therefore, the ability to flourish in a team diverse team environment is essential. Member Service Representatives are often the initial, and thereafter, the primary contact the members have with PFCU. Therefore, delivering world-class, "member will recommend PFCU to others" service throughout every interaction is required. Close attention to detail, diligent research ability, strong organizational skills and proficiency in written and oral communication are critical to accomplish the responsibilities of the position. Essential Functions Open various new accounts, process information and educate members regarding PFCU products and services Explain and expedite the opening, closing, transfer and rollover of IRA-specific accounts Assist members with Share Certificates, including explanation of earnings, penalties, terms, etc. Establish automatic transfer of funds, ACH transactions, wires and other similar transactions Comply with PFCU policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations. Thoroughly embrace, and through everyday actions, embody,PFCU's Five Core Values:
Effort, Fun, Respect, Honesty/Integrity and Tolerance. Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent plus one to two years minimum of in-person customer service experience are required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Desire, ability and commitment to learn, with initiative to work independently. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrated through the use of correct salutations, grammar, spelling, punctuation and encryption (for electronic communication) along with effective and positive interactions with members and team members. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other common computer skills (Internet navigation, etc.). Ability to deal effectively, professionally, and pleasantly with internal team members, members of the Credit Union and members of the communities we serve. Willingness to work cooperatively and effectively on projects with others while promoting a team environment. Maintain a professional appearance that aligns with Pittsford Federal Credit Union's dress code policy. Maintain and exhibit a positive attitude which is vital to deliver world-class service. Representation of the credit union's core values in all aspects of professional conduct. Notary licensing is encouraged and valued in this role. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk or teller height, while using hands to interact with a computer or other technologies. The employee frequently is required to see, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is expected to remain attentive and awake while at work. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, as well as bend or move to reach file folders at floor level. This position is located primarily at our Mendon branch; however, the employee may be required to travel to work at our Pittsford branch location on occasion. Position salary is based on a 40 hour work week; however, work hours are 8:45 am to 4:45 pm with 45 minutes for lunch (36.25 hpw) Monday through Friday with an occasional need to participate in 8:30 am team meetings or to stay past 4:45 pm to assist a customer. No weekends.
