Member Services Representative Northwestern Rural Electrical Cooperative (Northwestern REC) Northwestern REC has an exciting opportunity for a Member Services Representative . We are seeking candidates with a strong member/customer service background who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Position Overview This role serves as the primary point of contact for our member/customers, delivering high-quality service while managing multiple priorities throughout the day. The position requires the ability to handle frequent interruptions, maintain focus, and ensure accuracy—especially when working with financial transactions and account information. Key Responsibilities Respond to member inquiries in person and over the phone Update and maintain accurate member account information Establish new accounts and process payments Set up payment arrangements and handle electrical service disconnect/reconnect requests Provide courteous, efficient, and professional service to members and the public Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all transactions and records Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of member/customer service experience Associate's degree preferred; 5 years of direct experience in lieu of a degree will be considered Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy, interruption-driven environment High attention to detail, especially when handling financial information Ability to interact professionally and empathetically with all individuals, including those who may be upset or frustrated Basic knowledge of office equipment (computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers) Benefits Northwestern REC offers a competitive benefits package including: Medical, dental, vision and life insurance Pension plan 401(k) with match Much more!
