Executive Director Full-Time, Hourly, Salary Possible Organization Summary The Musk Ox Development Corporation (MODC) d.b.a. The Musk Ox Farm is a 501(c)3 promotes gentle musk ox husbandry, qiviut production, and education to the public.. We practice gentle, stress-free handling of our herd of musk oxen for the harvest of their qiviut fiber, and work hard to create meaningful connections to musk oxen that inspire people of all ages to learn more about arctic mammals and care about their changing habitats. The Musk Ox Farm is located two miles north of downtown Palmer, Alaska on seventy-five acres of protected farm and pastureland. Position Summary The Musk Ox Farm is seeking a full-time Membership Coordinator to join our team! The successful candidate excels in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment and is able to maintain positive, professional relationships with coworkers, donors, and the public. Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, graphic design skills and a commitment to outreach and education is highly desired. With support and direction from colleagues, this position is responsible for overseeing the organization's Friends of the Musk Ox (FOMO) membership program, which includes building and maintaining relationships with donors throughout the year. This position provides a unique opportunity to be part of an organization that is truly one-of-a-kind, working with an incredible Arctic animal and promoting gentle, sustainable agriculture for qiviut fiber production. General Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate mission to local, national and international constituents
  • Grow and maintain Friends of the Musk Ox membership program through education and outreach
  • Build and foster donor relations through written correspondence, online communications, or in-person when necessary
  • Track and organize donations and donor information in donor database
  • Design, write, and distribute seasonal member newsletter
  • Write monthly email campaigns to subscribers
  • Consistently maintain high standard of writing, editing and design skills
  • Compose quarterly report to update MODC board on relevant position activities
  • Support team members with other duties as needed Professional Qualifications The following are required:
  • Bachelor degree preferred or relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to retain and recall multiple facts and information
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on learning and finding solutions
  • Ability to work independently but request support and guidance when needed
  • Proficiency with the use of Google and Microsoft Office applications
  • Graphic design skills, proficiency with one of these platforms: Canva, Adobe Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator Employees must also possess the following abilities:
  • Ability to adhere to safety rules and other reasonable regulations pertaining to the position Ability to work in cooperation with other workers within the organizationPhysical and Mental Demands.
The physical demands of this position require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing. Requires near vision to write and read printed materials and computer screens. Requires hearing and speaking to exchange information on the telephone or in person. Requires sufficient arm, hand, finger dexterity to operate a keyboard and other office equipment. Repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers may also be required. Additionally, the employee must be able to communicate by oral and written means in an appropriate business manner and have cognitive skills to understand instructions, readily recall facts and details, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
