Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health care to individuals and families, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques to support clients in achieving their mental health goals. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Duties Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for clients with diverse mental health needs. Utilize various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Art Therapy. Perform thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to develop personalized treatment plans. Provide crisis intervention and management for clients experiencing acute mental health issues. Engage in case management activities, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate referrals. Document patient progress accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain medical records. Offer specialized counseling services such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, and PTSD care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for patients. Provide support and counseling for children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed to enhance service delivery. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required. Valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or equivalent credential in the state of practice. Experience working with children and families is preferred; familiarity with special education is a plus. Proficiency in crisis management techniques and experience in hospital or outpatient settings is desirable. Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems for accurate medical documentation. Familiarity with telehealth practices and experience providing remote therapy sessions is advantageous. Strong understanding of behavioral health principles including behavior management strategies and applied behavior analysis. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations including geriatrics and individuals with autism. Commitment to ongoing professional development through training in areas such as motivational interviewing and clinical research.
