Full-Time, Direct-Hire Position Summary Supporting the metallurgical needs of the company, including Met Lab operations, failure analysis, and materials and process development. This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing, engineering, and sales with expertise in powder specifications, laboratory services, materials processing, evaluation of customer returns, evaluation of customer material needs for new business and training. Essential Functions and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Essential Function satisfactorily. Work with existing and potential new customers and suppliers on metallurgical issues. Help in advance quality planning of new products, materials and processes. 2. Use problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis for preventive and corrective action. 3. Identify opportunities, develop, and lead the implementation of cost reduction and continuous improvement projects, including delivering internal and external presentations. 4. Manage Lab Activities up to and including providing direction and setting priorities for Metallurgical Lab. 5. Support training efforts to raise the level of technological capabilities, including training for new equipment and processes and providing support in internal PMT training. 6. Specify, procure, and implement new lab-related equipment, including competitive bidding, project management, run-offs, training, and start up. 7. Evaluate customer material needs for new jobs and recommend suitable PM materials and specifications. 8. Initiate and revise material specifications. 9. Work with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve problems with nonconforming materials. 10. Evaluate customer returns for cause of failure or rejection. 11. Provide support to manufacturing, engineering, and sales relating to materials and processes. 12. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program. 13. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 14. Environmental Management Systems. 15. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications and Experience Education, Certifications, and Experience
- Required Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Required Preferred Minimum 2-4 years' experience of related work experience and/or training.
- Required Preferred Experience in powder metallurgy, sintering and/or ferrous materials.
Skills Required Preferred Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Pay:
$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
