Job DescriptionMaintain equipment readiness within established parameters governing regulatory compliance expectations so that all reasonable customer requests pertaining to the conduct of testing are met in a timely and effective mannerAssist in the interpretation of calibration records requested by customers during on-site audits Participate in department and/or company-wide projects designed to improve the nature of customer servicePlay the lead role in the resolution of Out-of-Tolerance eventsAssist Management in addressing and resolving Corrective or Preventive actions as they relate to equipmentEnsure that testing staff working in the laboratory receive the help and cooperation they need on equipment used to successfully complete their studiesPrepare protocols related to the validation and requalification of equipment and ensure all schedules are being maintainedPrepare impact assessment reports for the equipment involved in out-of-tolerance eventsCoordinate outside calibration testing for equipment as neededWork closely with department and metrology management in the qualification or retiring of equipment within the laboratoryQualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a science-related field Required3+ years of experience in a regulated commercial lab environment, working with general lab equipment RequiredAdvanced knowledge of routine calibration, maintenance & troubleshooting techniques across relevant scientific instruments such as GC, HPLC, UV, FTIR, etc. Hands-on experience is preferred.
Able to think analytically; problem-solving skills are essentialKnowledge of and familiarity with word processing and database software requiredAdvanced language proficiency is requiredSolid organizational skills requiredMust be able to prioritize multiple tasksStrong communication skills essentialMust be able to convey complex ideas in easily understandable terms to both internal staff and customers
