Overview Manager, Environmental Services Full Time, 80
Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift Morristown Hamblen Overview:
Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is a 170-bed hospital serving an eight-county region in East Tennessee's Lakeway Area. The facility includes more than 20 emergency suites, advanced laboratories, radiology, and therapy services, and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for mammograms, biopsies, and nurse navigation. The Women's Center features six modern labor and delivery suites and a secure nursery for newborn care. Position Summary:
Manages the housekeeping department; establishes policies, procedure, objectives, and work standards. Maintains quality control and compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Selects, trains/orients and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Develops department goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation. Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget. Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for top management, as required. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates and supervises functions and activities of the housekeeping department to maintain the hospital environment in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition and comply with regulatory requirements. Schedules and supervises housekeeping functions and activities so as not to interrupt or interfere with patient care activities. Provides essential equipment and supplies and ensures that cleaning agents/housekeeping chemicals meet required standards to effect maximum cleanliness and sanitation. Investigates and evaluates new housekeeping supplies and equipment and makes recommendations to administration. Inspects and evaluates the hospital's physical condition. Makes recommendations concerning painting, repairs, furnishings and furniture, relocation of equipment, and allocation of space to improve sanitation, appearances, and efficiency. Local travel required. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
High School or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum Experience:
Sufficient previous administrative/supervisory experience in a hospital or similar institution
Licensure Requirement:
Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver's license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
