Job Description

AM Law 200 Firm, Honigman LLP, is seeking a 3L who is interested in a career in corporate law to join our corporate department as an Associate in the Fall of 2026 in our Detroit or Grand Rapids office. This position would sit within the Commercial Transactions practice group. Honigman is a premier business law firm with offices in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Israel, and across Michigan. POSITION SUMMARY, RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Our Supply Chain and Commercial Transactions Practice Group focuses on helping clients navigate the full spectrum of complex commercial contracting and supplyâ chain matters. The group operates at the intersection of business operations, risk management, and strategic transactions, serving companies that need sophisticated support on highâ value or businessâ critical agreements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver high quality work-product and effectively communicate at all levels of Honigman and its clients; Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and high energy and enthusiasm for counseling in the relevant client sector; Exhibit highly responsive, creative and efficient work habits; Strive to continuously improve knowledge, skills and abilities and seek guidance and feedback to improve performance and productivity; Take responsibility for enhancing expertise, in addition to seeking out formal and informal training; Integrate into the practice and build strong relationships with clients and within Honigman; and Demonstrate a long-term interest in networking with existing clients and developing business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Third year law student with an anticipated graduation date of spring 2026; prior work experience in manufacturing is a plus; Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under significant time constraints; Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills required; Ability to travel as client needs require. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The starting salary for a first-year associate at Honigman is $225,000. Entry-level associates typically join Honigman in September of their law school graduation year and for that partial year (September â December). Associates are also eligible for consideration for a year-end bonus. Honigman provides compensation and comprehensive benefits including medical coverage and dental care programs, life and disability insurance, student loan refinancing and consolidation services, open/flexible vacation policy, a 401(k) plan, generous paid parental leave, workstyle support, and wellbeing programs. We also provide strong support for legal training and business development to best position laterals for the opportunity for promotion to partner.
