Job Description
1.
Position Function/Objective:
This seasonal position is designed to assist our warehouse team mid-summer to early fall, for a timeframe not to exceed three months. As Summer Help, you will assist with daily operations such as shipping and receiving, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. 2.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure all tools and equipment utilized are sufficient to complete the assigned work. Maintain accountability for all materials, equipment, and tools utilized for project completion. Always ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Assist with inventory counts and help maintain organized stock levels. Select inventory items, organize them appropriately, and prepare shipments according to specifications. Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment (training will be provided as needed). Report to supervisor any abnormal conditions that develop during the process of work. Assist other employees within the Dafter Office with tasks or projects, as requested. Deliver materials and supplies to various locations within the service territory, as needed. Perform general maintenance tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, painting and lawn care across various Cloverland properties. Promote and adhere to all safety practices and policies. Observe all traffic laws and company regulations while operating company vehicles. Attend training sessions as assigned and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE). Performs other related duties and assumes other responsibilities as requested or directed. 3.Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Must be able to work in varying outdoor conditions, including extreme temperures and inclement weather. Physical capability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. occasionally and 20-50 lbs. regularly. Ability to stoop, bend, reach overhead, climb, push, pull, walk long distances, and work in awkward or confined spaces. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tool use and equipment handling. Must be able to hear and communicate clearly for safety and task coordination. Use of vehicles, computers, handheld devices, and typical warehouse or office equipment is required. Exposure to hazards such as working at heights, electrical risks, and radiant energy. 4.Accountabilities:
Reports to the Purchasing Manager, is also required to report to the Storekeepers when working in the ld on a project. Must keep them informed on work progress, completions, and consult as needed to ensure duties are completed efficiently and effectively. Accountable to the supervisor and the management of the Cooperative for the efficient and responsible performance of all assigned duties. Encouraged to use initiative and sound judgment when making decisions, remembering that the Cooperative's best interest can be affected by their actions. You should feel free to make suggestions for the improvement of operations and efficiency. 5.Position Specifications:
This position is classified as non-exempt under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Non-exempt employees are paid on an hourly basis. 6.Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent certificate required. Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License. 7.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must demonstrate knowledge in the following: written and verbal communication, reading comprehension, judgement, decision making, time managemnt, troubleshooting, operation and control, and equipment maintenance. Demonstrate knowledge of material resources to ensure appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work and completion of projects. Must mainatain first aid and CPR certification as required by the Cooperative. Employee is to perform the essential functions and elements of this position competently with the adequate skills and demonstrated responsibility.Personal characteristics to include:
