Job Description:
Our client, a rapidly growing advanced materials and semiconductor technology company, is developing next-generation manufacturing platforms used in high-performance computing, advanced power electronics, and next-generation wireless infrastructure applications. They are seeking a highly technical Microwave / Plasma Systems Scientist to help design and optimize specialized plasma-based processing equipment used in advanced materials manufacturing. This position involves a combination of applied physics, RF/microwave engineering, plasma diagnostics, experimentation, and hardware development within a highly interdisciplinary engineering environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design microwave components and systems used in plasma-enhanced CVD reactors and related process equipment Model plasma and microwave behavior within reactor components to improve equipment performance and overall understanding Develop diagnostics for plasma and reactor monitoring and control, including implementation within manufacturing environments Design and conduct experiments to better understand the impact of hardware on plasma behavior and growth processes, particularly as it relates to microwave components and sources
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of industry experience Ph.D. in Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field with expertise in high-power microwave-frequency systems Hands-on experience with RF/microwave equipment used in the testing of microwave sources and components (VNAs, signal generators, diodes, etc.) Experience with high-vacuum systems and plasma-based equipment Proficiency with full-wave electromagnetic design tools such as
HFSS, CST
MWS, COMSOL, or similar platforms, along with familiarity with additional circuit design/layout tools 'BONUS' QUALIFICATIONS (NOT
REQUIRED
): Experience with semiconductor process or deposition equipment Familiarity with plasma-enhanced CVD systems Background working with manufacturing or production environments Experience with reactor diagnostics, monitoring, or process control Familiarity with vacuum or RF power delivery systems
