Schedule:
This position offers flexibility, with remote, hybrid, or office-based options depending on location and project needs. Periodic travel may be required for client meetings, fieldwork, or construction support. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mid•to Senior-Level Environmental Engineer with demonstrated expertise in remedial investigation, design, and implementation to support technically complex environmental projects from planning through execution. This role is well suited for a professional who applies sound engineering judgement to contaminated site challenges and develops practical, defensible remedial solutions that meet regulatory requirements and client objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, regulators, contractors, and clients to lead remediation-focused work streams, prepare and review engineering designs and technical deliverables, and support the execution of long-term remediation programs across soil, groundwater, sediment, and related environmental media. What You'll Do Key responsibilities include: Supporting and leading environmental remediation projects through investigation, remedial design, and implementation phases Preparing and reviewing remedial design documents, including drawings, specifications, basis-of-design reports, and cost estimates Evaluating investigation and performance data to inform remedy selection, design optimization, and adaptive management decisions Coordinating with regulators and supporting permitting and agency review processes Overseeing or supporting construction activities, including contractor coordination and construction quality assurance/quality control Preparing technical memoranda, work plans, engineering reports, and project documentation Managing project tasks, schedules, and budgets and contributing to overall project delivery Providing technical direction and mentoring to junior staff Participating in client meetings and effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences Supporting proposal development, scope development, and cost estimating efforts What We're Looking For Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, or a closely related field Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in environmental investigation and remediation Demonstrated experience supporting or leading remedial design and implementation projects Experience managing tasks or discrete projects with limited supervision Strong technical writing, data interpretation, and documentation skills Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations governing site remediation Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing multiple priorities Proficiency with common engineering and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Word, GIS, AutoCAD or similar platforms) Preferred Experience The following experience is a plus but not required: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure Experience managing construction contractors or subcontractors at remediation sites Supporting feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, or alternatives analyses Experience with soil, groundwater, sediment, or water treatment remedy design Experience with environmental permitting related to remediation or construction activities Prior experience in a client-facing environmental consulting role
