Middle School Science and Art Teacher

Overview Surad Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our team in a unique dual-role position combining Middle School Science (Grades 6-8) and Media Arts/Theater (Grades K-8) . This role is ideal for a creative and flexible educator who is passionate about both scientific inquiry and artistic expression. The ideal candidate will have experience with Montessori methods and a strong commitment to mastery-based education. This position involves designing and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support students' academic, creative, social, and emotional growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement both science and arts curricula aligned with Montessori principles and mastery-based learning. Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the intellectual, creative, social, and emotional development of each student. Use hands-on materials and experiential learning to teach scientific concepts and artistic skills. Foster curiosity, creativity, and exploration through experiments, performances, media projects, and interdisciplinary learning experiences. Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and self-expression across both subject areas. Assess student progress regularly and provide individualized support to ensure mastery of concepts and skills. Provide opportunities for students to showcase their learning through presentations, performances, exhibitions, or projects. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science, arts, and other subject areas into cohesive learning experiences. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and Montessori methods. Experience Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Art, Theater, Media Arts, or a related field. Montessori certification or experience with Montessori teaching methods preferred. Experience with mastery-based learning and assessment. Ability to teach both middle school science and arts (media arts, theater, or related disciplines). Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging, supportive learning environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for both STEM and the arts, and a commitment to whole-child education.

From $47,000.00 per year
