Middle School Science Teacher

Job description Father Marquette Catholic Academy is seeking a middle school science teacher to join their team in Marquette, MI . The ideal candidate will focus on academic excellence, inspiring curiosity, wonder, and a love of learning, while maintaining high expectations. FMCA is looking for a teacher who will create a faith-centered, joy-filled classroom and help instill Catholic values and virtue in our students. The teacher will meet students where they are and determine what is needed to help each grow and learn.

Essential Functions:

Teach science to 5th-8th-grade students. Plan and implement classical lessons, including frequent science experiments, to support academic success. Assess student progress throughout the learning process. Maintain effective classroom management strategies. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students' progress and classroom happenings. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning. Participate in school and diocese-provided professional development. Attend all required staff meetings and school events, including those outside school hours. Adhere to diocesan policies and the school procedures in the school handbooks and in the Diocese of Marquette personnel policy manual. Perform other related duties as needed.
