POSITION SUMMARY

Reports directly to the Upper School Director Full-time teaching position in Middle School Science, with an emphasis on physical science and earth science Boarding school role with on-campus housing provided Opportunity to engage in various aspects of student life

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching:

Instruct physical science and earth science classes for grades 6-8 Provide individualized support to students Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards Use varied instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs Assess student progress and provide timely feedback Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning

Residential Education Duties:

Live on campus and serve on a team supervising a student dormitory Create a safe and nurturing residential environment Dorm duty is twice per week (weekdays) and every 4th weekend

Coaching:

Coach three seasons in athletic program (head coaching and/or assistant coaching, depending on experience and interest)

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, or related field Academic and teaching experience in physical science, physics, chemistry, earth science, and or engineering preferred Strong passion for working with middle school students Potential and desire to contribute to the full school program Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Enthusiasm for the boarding school lifestyle
