Job Description

The Millwright1 will install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings. Essential Functions Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts Level bedplate and establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit Align machines or equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, or plumb bobs Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools Signal crane operator to lower basic assembly units to bedplate, and align unit to centerline Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications Perform daily maintenance and safety checks Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company's safety culture Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required At least 5 years' experience as a Millwright Skills and Key Competencies Working knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments - results oriented Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines Able to work non-routine hours, when necessary Ability and willingness to travel as required Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another Ability to operate job related tools Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions Bay Ltd. is An Equal Opportunity Employer
