Job Description

TRAVELING FOREMAN / INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE - EASTERN SHORE MARYLAND
$130K+ Looking for a solid foreman to run a traveling maintenance crew at an industrial plant on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Let's be straight about it… This ain't a clipboard-only job. You're expected to lead from the front — not stand back and point. It's dirty, greasy, hot, and it smells like a rendering plant. If you need clean shops and easy days, keep scrolling. But if you can run a crew, keep men working, and handle real breakdowns , you can make serious money working half the year.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Running a crew of millwrights / maintenance techs Scheduling daily work and keeping production moving Hands-on work: welding, gearbox swaps, conveyors, general plant maintenance Dealing with real-world breakdowns and making decisions on the fly Keeping guys accountable — no babysitting, no lazy workers Being the point man between crew and management
SCHEDULE 14
straight days working 12-hour shifts (84 hours/week) Then 12 days off at home
Breakdown:
~182 days working per year ~183 days OFF per year You work half the year. Period. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting complex machinery and systems. You will play a vital part in ensuring our production processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), with a passion for problem-solving and customer service.
FOREMAN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, manage, and work alongside a crew performing preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment (hydraulics, conveyors, gearboxes, welding systems, HVAC/R, high-voltage electrical) Take full responsibility for jobsite execution — planning daily work, assigning tasks, and making sure production stays moving Hold crew accountable for performance, attendance, and work quality — no babysitting, no dead weight Read and interpret schematics, prints, and control diagrams to diagnose issues and make real-time decisions without waiting on direction Perform and oversee advanced troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems using meters, diagnostic tools, and hands-on experience Lead PLC and controls troubleshooting/repairs to keep automated systems operational Ensure all work is completed safely and correctly , enforcing safety standards and correcting issues immediately Operate and oversee use of scissor lifts and access equipment for elevated work Manage and track all work through CMMS systems , ensuring accurate documentation, work orders, and maintenance history Coordinate directly with plant personnel and management to prioritize work, reduce downtime, and improve equipment reliability Identify problems before they become failures — proactive maintenance mindset , not just reacting to breakdowns Maintain jobsite organization, tools, and materials — making sure the crew has what they need to work efficiently Handle real-time issues in the field — breakdowns, personnel issues, schedule changes — without needing constant oversight Train and develop crew members, setting the standard for work ethic, skill level, and professionalism
