Job Description
We are seeking a Mini-Excavator Foreman to become an integral part of our team! The mini-excavator operator is responsible for primarily running mini-excavator as well as a variety of excavation equipment to excavate, more and grade earth, erect structures or pour concrete or other hard surface pavement. Responsibilities:
Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects. Locate underground utilities through hand digging, hand trenching, etc. Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment. Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, and backhoes. Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to distribute and level earth or terrain. Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members. May drive equipment to job site. Conduct post-job quality checks Clean, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle / equipment to assure optimum performance and safety. Communicate need for maintenance or repair. Perform required pre-trip, post-trip inspections and the required paperwork Communicate with supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e. Dailies, labor hours, bore logs, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.) Adhere with OSHA safety and health rules Use proper PPE at all times and follow all procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver's License preferred 2+ years' experience operating excavation equipment, vehicles, and tools, including their designs, uses and maintenance as a foreman/crew lead. Ability to read and interpret construction prints Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications) Ability to read and comprehend and follow all quality/safety policies and procedures.
