MINISTRY ADMINISTRATOR

St Peter's Lutheran Church (Harwich, MA) is an open and affirming congregation of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) that is seeking a permanent, part-time Ministry Administrator to join us and support the work of our church. If you are a self-motivated, customer-centered, MS Office wiz who loves detailed work in a relaxed and relationship-focused environment, you would be a wonderful addition to our team! We are a congregation of natives and "washashores"; life-long Lutherans and many other Christian denominations; we are retirees and young families; we all love this beautiful place in which we live and are grateful to have this church family to which we belong. We believe God's love extends to all and strive to be active in our welcome to long time members and newcomers alike! The Ministry Administrator participates in the ministry of the congregation in general by: (1) interacting with the congregation, its Council and committees, and the greater community of Harwich and the Lower Cape (2) working with and supporting the rest of the staff; (3) performing any duties as directed by the Pastor, and (4) fulfilling duties in the following general areas:

• Visitor Hospitality
• Mailings
• Ministry Support
• Office Management
• Publications/Communications
• Record Keeping
• Scheduling
• Building Management and Security This is a non-exempt position with a range of 24-30 hours per week.

Benefits include one week of paid vacation (with the ability to accrue more vacation with tenure in the position) and paid sick time and holidays. Healthcare benefits are not included. Qualified applicants should have 2 or more years of experience working administratively in a non-profit organization, preferably with a faith-based organization or religious community. We gather weekly for robust and music-centered worship and have committed ourselves to serving our neighbors in the congregation, the greater Lower Cape Community, and at the national level. St. Peter's has been a Reconciling in Christ Congregation since 2016 and extends a particular welcome to members of the LGBTQI+ community. Our Just Peace Team educates and advocates for social justice and we align ourselves with other nonprofit organizations that are working to serve the needy and bring justice to the marginalized. We are home to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry (managed through the Lower Cape Outreach Council) and hold an annual Cranberry Fair from which all proceeds are used to support unhoused and at-risk students identified by our local school counselors and nurses.
