Job Description

Summary The Commercial Restoration Supervisor plays a critical hands-on leadership role in executing water, fire, and mold restoration projects for commercial clients. Working under the direction of the Project Manager, this position is responsible for leading field crews, performing production work, accurately scoping losses, and ensuring projects meet industry standards, timelines, safety requirements, and client expectations. The ideal candidate is a motivated, safety-conscious leader who thrives in high-pressure emergency situations and is comfortable with both supervisory duties and physical fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to emergency losses (water, fire, mold, and related perils) after hours, on weekends, and holidays as required by job assignments. Arrive on-site quickly to stabilize the property and mitigate further damage.
Loss Scoping & Documentation:
Perform detailed on-site scoping and assessment of commercial losses. Document conditions with photos, moisture readings, Docusketching, and notes. Provide input on scope of work, required equipment, and crew needs to the Project Manager.
Hands-On Production Work:
Actively participate in field operations, including water extraction, structural drying, demolition, debris removal, fire/smoke damage cleaning, odor control, mold remediation, and contents manipulation/packing as needed.
Crew Leadership & Oversight:
Lead, direct, and supervise restoration technicians and laborers on assigned projects. Ensure daily work follows the approved scope, IICRC standards (S500, S520, etc.), and company procedures. Provide on-the-job training and coaching.
Project Execution:
Set up job sites, stage equipment, monitor drying/progress, maintain job logs, and coordinate with the Project Manager on any changes or additional work. Ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce all OSHA, company, and industry safety protocols. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Identify and report hazards.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the Project Manager. Deliver professional service and updates to the PM in order to keep commercial clients informed.
Equipment & Inventory:
Properly use, maintain, and account for restoration equipment, vehicles, and supplies. Report any issues or needs promptly.
Additional Duties:
Assist with small reconstruction tasks when required, complete necessary paperwork (daily logs, time sheets, moisture maps, etc.), and support other restoration or mitigation projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in water, fire, and/or mold restoration, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Strong commercial project experience preferred.
Certifications:
IICRC certifications strongly preferred (WRT
  • Water Damage Restoration Technician, ASD
  • Applied Structural Drying, FRST
  • Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician, AMRT
  • Applied Microbial Remediation Technician).
Additional certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, Lead, Asbestos) are a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in moisture detection, psychometrics, demolition, contents handling, and industry-standard restoration techniques. Ability to read and interpret floor plans/blueprints is helpful.
Physical Demands:
Ability to perform demanding physical work (lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, wear PPE, stand for long periods, work in varying conditions including unsanitary or hazardous environments).
Availability:
Flexible schedule with reliable after-hours emergency response. Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to travel within the service area (company vehicle provided for on-call).
Other:
Strong leadership and communication skills. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with mobile apps, tablets, and basic job documentation software. Preferred Attributes Experience managing large-scale or complex commercial losses (office buildings, retail, industrial, multi-family, etc.). Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus. Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within scope while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
