Responsibilities:
Mechanic will need to provide their own hand tools for daily repairs and maintenance. Use company service truck, equipped with an air compressor, welder, and cutting torches, to address mechanical and electrical issues, including air brakes, hydraulics, and ABS systems. Travel between different Oak Harbor facilities to perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs for diesel equipment and trailers. Diagnose and repair trailer systems, including brakes, lights, and suspension components. Conduct DOT inspections on trailers to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Address driver-reported issues promptly and professionally. Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and enhance equipment reliability. Replace worn or damaged parts to maintain the safety and integrity of equipment and trailers. Manage welding and fabrication tasks for trailer repairs. Maintain accurate service records using mobile apps or other systems. Adhere to safety standards and company protocols. Communicate effectively with the dispatch team and customers to provide updates and ensure timely service.Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Proficiency in air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and ABS systems preferred. Experience in trailer maintenance and repair, including both electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge of DOT requirements for trailer inspections preferred. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field. Welding or fabrication skills are highly desirable. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required). Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Flexibility to work occasional on-call shifts for emergency repairs. Physical ability to manage outdoor work environments and lift/move heavy parts.Benefits:
