Heavy Duty Mobile Mechanic Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty Mobile Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This role is primarily field-based, requiring travel to job sites and roadside locations to perform service calls in a variety of weather conditions. When field work is not scheduled, the mechanic will work in the shop assisting with repairs and maintenance.Key Responsibilities:
Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, equipment, and machinery Respond to road calls and emergency breakdowns in a timely and professional manner Work in all weather conditions and environments to ensure equipment is operational Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Complete accurate service reports and documentation for all work performed Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members Assist with in-shop repairs and maintenance when field service is not required Follow all safety procedures and company policiesSchedule & Work Conditions:
40-50 hours per week, with overtime as needed Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours and emergency service calls Frequent travel to job sites and roadside locations Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise levels, and physical demandsQualifications:
Proven experience as a heavy-duty mechanic Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently in the field Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when on-call Good communication and customer service skillsPhysical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment Capable of working in confined spaces, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with mobile service operations CDL license NYS Inspectors licensePay:
$28.86 - $40.00 per hourBenefits:
