Mohs Histotechnician

Grima Dermatology and Surgery is an expanding physician-owned dermatology and surgery practice serving Central Oahu and surrounding communities. Our mission is to deliver exceptional medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care while building access to specialized skin cancer treatment for a growing patient population. As our practice expands, we are developing one of Central Oahu's few community-based Mohs micrographic surgery programs—bringing high-level skin cancer care closer to home for patients across Mililani, Waipio, Pearl City, Aiea, Kapolei, North Shore, and surrounding communities. We are seeking an experienced Mohs Histotechnician who is excited to help build something meaningful while enjoying flexibility in scheduling and career growth. Position Options We are open to multiple employment models: Option 1: Dedicated Part-Time Mohs Histotech Ideal for an experienced histotech who wants to work exclusively on Mohs surgery days. 5 Mohs days per month initially (with anticipated growth) Competitive daily or hourly compensation Option 2: Full-Time Hybrid Role Ideal for someone who wants full-time employment with varied responsibilities.

On Mohs surgery days:

Perform Mohs tissue processing and slide preparation On non-Mohs days: Work as a dermatology clinical assistant/surgical assistant This creates stable full-time employment while helping build an expanding surgical program.

Responsibilities:

Receive, orient, map, ink, embed, freeze, section, stain, and mount Mohs tissue specimens Produce high-quality frozen sections for intraoperative interpretation Maintain accurate specimen identification and chain of custody Perform routine quality control and maintenance of cryostat and laboratory equipment Maintain CLIA, OSHA, infection control, and laboratory compliance standards Assist surgeon with workflow efficiency during Mohs procedures Maintain histology inventory and supply management Clinical Duties (Hybrid Role) Room patients for dermatology visits Assist with biopsies, excisions, cosmetic procedures, and wound care Prepare procedure trays and sterile instruments Patient education regarding post-op care Documentation assistance within EMR Coordinate pathology specimens and referrals

Qualifications Required:

Experience in Mohs frozen section processing Histotechnologist certification (HT or HTL through American Society for Clinical Pathology) or with equivalent experience Strong attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to thrive in a growing, entrepreneurial practice Why Join Us? Pay:

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
