Montessori Children's School is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and professional Adolescent Classroom Assistant to support students ages 12-14 within our Montessori Adolescent Program for the 2026-2027 school year.

Our Adolescent Program supports students ages 12-14 during an important stage of growth and development by encouraging academic curiosity, community engagement, leadership, and meaningful real-world experiences. We are seeking a dependable, nurturing, and professional Classroom Assistant to help support our Montessori adolescent community for the 2026-2027 school year.Position Hours:
Monday-Friday 7:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.Position Overview:
The Adolescent Classroom Assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher to help maintain a calm, organized, and engaging Montessori environment for students ages 12-14. This individual supports students academically, socially, and emotionally while helping foster independence, responsibility, and respect within the classroom community. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, observant, and passionate about working with adolescents in a student-centered learning environment.Essential Responsibilities:
▪ Support the Lead Teacher in the implementation of authentic Montessori learning experiences, classroom routines, and student projects. ▪ Assist with small-group instruction, individual student support, organization of classroom materials, and daily classroom operations. ▪ Help cultivate a respectful, inclusive, and emotionally safe classroom community where adolescents feel valued, supported, and empowered. ▪ Observe students carefully and provide guidance that encourages independence, responsibility, problem-solving, and self-advocacy. ▪ Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging prepared environment that supports focused and meaningful work. ▪ Model professionalism, consistency, collaboration, and respectful communication with students, families, and colleagues. ▪ Communicate student observations, concerns, and successes to the Lead Teacher in a positive, solution-oriented manner. ▪ Assist with supervision during transitions, outdoor activities, lunch, field studies, community experiences, and school events. ▪ Support classroom technology use and assist students with organization and project completion when needed. ▪ Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support the evolving needs of the adolescent program and school community. ▪ Attend staff meetings, school functions, professional development opportunities, and required trainings. ▪ Uphold all Montessori Children's School policies, procedures, and state licensing requirements. Qualifications▪ Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred ▪ Previous experience working with middle school or adolescent-aged students required ▪ Montessori experience or Montessori training preferred, but not required ▪ Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills ▪ Ability to build positive relationships with adolescents while maintaining appropriate expectations and boundaries ▪ Receptive to coaching, mentorship, and ongoing professional growth ▪ Dependable, professional, and team-orientedPhysical Requirements:
This position requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting classroom materials, and actively engaging with students in both indoor and outdoor settings.Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation is dependent upon education, experience, and qualifications. Benefits may be available for eligible full-time employees. Please no walk-ins or phone calls.
