Montessori Assistant Toddler Teacher

Toddler Assistant (15 months-3 years) Wildwood Montessori School | Lamonte, MO At Wildwood Montessori, our toddler environment is a place of wonder, movement, and early independence. We are seeking a grounded, dependable Toddler Assistant who feels called to support young children in a calm, respectful, and purposeful way. This role is hands-on, relational, and rooted in the belief that even our youngest children are capable, worthy, and eager to contribute. Role Overview The Toddler Assistant works alongside the Lead Guide to support the daily rhythm of the classroom, helping maintain a peaceful, prepared environment while assisting children in developing independence, language, and self-care skills. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Guide in maintaining a calm, orderly, and engaging Montessori environment Assist children with toileting, handwashing, dressing, and other care-of-self routines Help prepare and maintain classroom materials and activities Model and guide respectful behavior, gentle hands, and safe movement Support snack, lunch, and cleanup routines (children are active participants) Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and shared spaces Observe children and support redirection with patience and consistency Assist with outdoor time, transitions, and daily classroom flow What We're Looking For Warm, patient, and emotionally steady presence Dependable and punctual At least 1 year of experience working with toddlers or young children in a childcare or classroom setting (required) Comfortable with hands-on care (toileting, spills, messes, etc.) Willingness to learn Montessori philosophy and toddler development Ability to follow direction while growing into the role Team-oriented with a positive, flexible mindset What Makes Wildwood Different Nature-based, outdoor-integrated learning environment (greenhouse, gardens, animals) Strong sense of community and purpose Children are active participants in real work—food prep, care of environment, practical life A team that values growth, reflection, and working together Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30pm To Apply Please send your resume and a brief introduction to info@wildwoodmontessorischool.com
