State Credit Union:
Where Your Skills will Help Members Get the Keys to Their New Home. This position will be in our Norway branch. State Credit Union is seeking a detailoriented and motivated Mortgage Loan Processor to support our Mortgage Loan Officers and manage loan applications from submission to approval. This role ensures all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations while maintaining a professional environment and protecting confidential member information with integrity. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collect, organize, and review necessary documents (tax returns, bank statements, pay stubs) to prepare loan packages. Assist the Mortgage Loan Officers in communicating with borrowers by answering questions, providing status updates, and requesting additional information. Review applicant credit history, employment details, and financial standing to ensure accuracy. Prepare Loan Reviews for Credit Committee to approve or deny real-estate loans (including second mortgages) based on delegated policy; provide formal explanations for any denials. Request and perform preliminary reviews on flood certifications, title reports, hazard binders, and appraisals. Prepare mortgage loan document packages for closing. Research and resolve all items in the closing package to ensure the process is on-time, accurate, and complete. Book mortgages either on CU•Answers or prepare submission packet for Midwest Loan Services. On all Freddie Mac mortgages complete the selling accounting and attach the loan to Freddie Mac Rate Lock. Coordinate with title companies, borrowers, and MLO's to schedule closings. Ensure completeness and accuracy of paper and electronic mortgage files. Maintain escrow accounts. Track and pay real-estate taxes and insurance premiums as they are due. Prepare, review and send escrow analysis statements annually. Maintain accurate, ongoing records of insurance and taxes for all real-estate loans and documenting final documents such as recorded mortgages and final title policy. Monitor delinquent real-estate loans and take necessary action to mitigate risk.
Qualifications:
Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Understanding of lending guidelines. Excellent mathematical and statistical aptitude. Three years of experience in mortgage processing or similar training is preferred. This position will remain open until it is filled.
