Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Mortuary Transporter, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and professional transportation services for deceased individuals. This position involves safely and respectfully moving bodies between funeral homes, hospitals, and other designated locations. Your work ensures dignity and care are maintained throughout every step of the process, supporting families and funeral professionals during sensitive times. Must reside in Hernando/Pasco County On call job Responsibilities Safely operate vehicles to transport deceased persons. Coordinate with funeral homes, hospitals, and other facilities to schedule pickups and drop-offs efficiently. Assist with the loading and unloading of bodies using proper lifting techniques to ensure safety and dignity. Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation and appearance. Communicate professionally with team members, clients, and facility staff to ensure smooth transportation processes. Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies during vehicle operation. Keep accurate records of transportation logs, delivery documentation, and vehicle maintenance reports. Skills Strong communication skills to interact respectfully with families, clients, and team members during sensitive situations. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling bodies or equipment involved in transportation. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify issues early and ensure safety standards are met. Experience in paratransit or specialized transportation services is a plus. Excellent customer service skills combined with professionalism, empathy, and discretion at all times.
