Job Summary This position exists to provide comprehensive support within the OSOW Permits Call Center and the MinnesotaSUPERLOAD
Permit software by managing incoming inquiries and delivering accurate permit-related guidance to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, routing, and issuing oversize/overweight permit applications under the direction of the Permits Supervisor or designee. This role provides technical information, customer service, and decision-making support to specialized motor carriers and industry partners MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for visas or Optional Practical Exam for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 1 year of experience in performing the following tasks: Experience with oversize/overweight various equipment, machinery and vehicle configurations required to transport loads OR have been a driver/operator for a specialized transportation company that hauling oversize/overweight loads; (e.g., mobile homes, construction or farm machinery, mobile cranes, commercial boats, etc.) Experience with MN vehicle size and weight laws, road postings, and laws governing commercial motor vehicles. Ability to understand Minnesota state highway system and basic map reading. Math skills sufficient to calculate weight and spacing. Communication and customer service skills sufficient to provide clear guidance and customer support . interaction through telephone communications, email, etc. Additional RequirementsREFERENCE/BACKGROUND CHECKS
