Contract Role Overview Our organization is seeking a Materials and Processes Engineer to support a wide range of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and measurement technology applications for aerospace products. The successful candidate will be a self-starter focused on technical writing within a manufacturing environment. This role involves developing technical procedures for airline customer maintenance, drafting reference standards, and supporting the entire product lifecycle from research to active airframe support. Key Responsibilities Write technical procedures and documentation based on engineering requirements to support airline customer maintenance inspections. Design and draft NDE reference standards for vendor production and subsequent testing. Develop engineering specifications and other documents to meet customer needs. Assist in the evaluation of emerging technologies for potential business applications. Support the development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes. Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into work procedures and materials. Travel to remote sites as needed (approximately one to two trips per year) to verify procedures on aircraft.Required Qualifications Education:
A Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited course of study in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering is required.Experience:
A minimum of nine years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or seven years with a Master's degree. Must have a strong background in technical writing within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.Technical Skills:
Candidates must have experience with either Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) or previous experience with our organization's Materials & Processes (M&P). An ASNT Level 3 certification in eddy current or ultrasonics is a strong requirement. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of NDI systems such as ultrasound and eddy current. Experience with CAD systems like CATIA or Solidworks. General knowledge of aircraft and aerospace processes. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
