Job Description
Working/Functional Title MRI Technologist Position Summary A registered technologist responsible for performing, processing, and evaluating MRI scans to ensure high-quality diagnostic images. This role supports radiologists and physicians in accurately diagnosing disease and injury while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and care. Responsibilities include operating MRI equipment, adhering to imaging protocols, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Minimum Requirements Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school in an approved Radiologic Technologist program; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the use of radiology equipment and exposure techniques and positioning and care of patients; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and additional certification(s) in the area(s) of specialization as required by law or to meet industry standards. This requires the ability to use specialized radiology equipment. Work Hours This position will work the hours of 12:30pm to 9:00pm Monday - Friday Website https://healthcare.msu.edu/ Summary of Physical Demands The job requires significant physical effort and involves lifting and positioning patients and/or viewing a VDT screen more than 75% of the time Summary of Health Risks Exposure to human blood, serum, and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
