Position Summary:
The MS/HS Building Secretary provides clerical and organizational support to ensure the middle school and high school office runs smoothly. This position supports students, staff, and administrators by managing attendance, coordinating school events, and assisting with daily office operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain daily student attendance records and report information to the principal and school counselor. Organize and track academic student awards, including inventory and distribution. Assist with planning and coordinating large school events such as graduation ceremonies and school banquets. Help maintain and update the district calendar. Administer basic medical care to students when the school nurse is absent, following district guidelines. Assist with ordering office supplies and maintaining organization and inventory of materials. Support the building principal with coordination and scheduling of substitute teachers. Provide general office support, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting students and staff as needed. Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information. Qualifications (optional section if needed): High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work with students, staff, and the public in a professional manner. Basic computer and office technology skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize daily responsibilities.
