JOB TITLE
MTSS Coordinator and Intervention Teacher
JOB BRIEF
To lead, assist and support in the daily operation of MTSS protocols for reading, math, and/or behavioral-social-emotional learning (BSEL). This includes data collection and analysis as well as collaboration with teachers and school support staff. This position will also include teaching students as part of MTSS during tiered groups.

Bluemont Elementary
QUALIFICATIONS
Kansas Teaching License. Degree from an accredited college or university. School leadership experience preferred. Experience with implementing and organizing MTSS models. All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY
Full time school year position. Based on Salary Schedule. 2025-2026 Salary Schedule 2026-2027 Salary yet to be established.
REPORTS TO
: Building Principal.
SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES MTSS
Implementation Support
  • Assist in the design and implementation of school MTSS plans. Instructional Intervention
  • Provide targeted small-group instruction in reading, math, and/or behavioral-social-emotional learning (BSEL) aligned with student needs and MTSS protocols. Data-Driven Instruction
  • Implement data screenings, progress monitoring, and data analysis to guide group placement, instruction, and intervention strategies. Intervention Planning
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify students for intervention and adjust instruction based on ongoing progress data. Collaborative Engagement
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent academic and behavioral support. Communication Skills
  • Maintain clear communication with students, staff, and families regarding student progress and intervention plans. Organizational Skills
  • Manage intervention schedules, maintain accurate instructional records, and adapt to shifting student needs. Prepare and Present Reports
  • Develop and present reports to communicate student progress and MTSS outcomes to stakeholders. Oversee Intervention Team
  • Lead the intervention team by facilitating MTSS data meetings and evaluating classified interventionists. Instructional Coaching Support
  • Provide structures and support through classroom observations and instructional coaching to enhance student learning. General School Support
  • Participate in assessments, school events, and other duties as assigned by administration.

RETIREMENT
USD 383 makes monthly contributions to a 403(b
  • retirement account for all certified and eligible employees.
KPERS (Kansas Public Employees Retirement System): 6% monthly staff contribution. Vested after five years.

EVALUATION
: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Education's policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
