$16.15/hour Availability Thursday — Sunday availability required. Availability to work evening events required. Job Description Museum Services Assistants (MSAs) are responsible for providing a successful guest experience in the Museum. They deliver a high level of customer service to ensure excellent experience for all visitors and maintain a safe, secure environment for the Museum's collections, members, visitors, volunteers, and staff. MSAs oversee access control, engage with guests in exhibit spaces, handle questions and complaints, monitor compliance with Museum safety/visitor protocols, and facilitate entry/egress screening. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist guests and provide direction to collections, exhibitions, and Museum amenities to enhance their visit. Provide general information about the Museum, including exhibitions, the Café, Cantina, Books and More, Gift Shop, facility rentals, and upcoming events.
  • Greet visitors and offer guidance; remain alert and circulate frequently through post assignments to deter acts of vandalism, theft, or negligence, ensuring the safety and positive experience of visitors.
  • Report all suspicious conditions or persons, provide descriptions of violators of Museum policies, and report accidents, injuries, and/or hazardous conditions. Advise Security Dispatch of areas requiring cleaning or maintenance for safety.
  • Perform safety checks of the premises, securing egress points and lighting systems.
  • Effectively handle evacuations and difficult situations according to Museum policy; provide First Aid care as needed.
  • Assist in the take-down of special events.
  • Proactively seek and obtain information regarding
  • Museum policies, promotions, activities, and events to provide a high level of customer service to all Museum guests and potential facility rental clients.
  • Actively promote Museum memberships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience. Required Licenses/Certifications Willing to complete First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications Knowledge & Skills
  • Basic knowledge of customer service's best practices and strong communication skills.
  • Enjoy working with the public, meeting new people, and collaborating with volunteers.
  • Ability to learn and apply CPR, AED, First Aid, and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the Museum's permanent collection.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Saturday (7 a.
m. to 5 p.m.) availability required. Availability for evening events is required, specifically Friday and Saturday. Job Description The Security Officer ensures a safe and secure environment for the Museum's collection, staff, members, visitors, and volunteers while upholding the Museum's customer service standards. This role serves as a central point of contact for security and safety matters, coordinating staff assignments, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the effective use of security systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and disseminate daily posting sheets detailing staff assignments.
  • Manage staff movements throughout the day, including breaks and lunches.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and visitor satisfaction.
  • Oversee access control and monitor visitor compliance with Museum safety protocols.
  • Engage with guests in exhibit spaces, handle questions and complaints, and facilitate entry/egress screening.
  • Monitor and manage security systems, including CCTV, alarms, fire systems, and visitor management systems.
  • Provide loss prevention for the Museum Shop, reducing potential theft and ensuring safety.
  • Receive, process, and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, directing information as needed.
  • Coordinate communication between Museum staff, the Security Department, and outside agencies.
  • Regularly inspect and report on suspicious conditions, individuals, accidents, injuries, and other potential risks.
  • Handle evacuations and address difficult situations according to Museum policy.
  • Compile and submit daily shift recap reports, outlining operations and incidents.
  • Work extended hours for special events and programming, enforcing event policies and managing the security team.
  • Assist in coordinating maintenance/service activities and manage event breakdowns.
  • Offer guidance on Museum amenities and promote Museum memberships.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce/distribute incident reports.
  • Perform safety checks, ensure security of egress points and lighting systems, and conduct daily shift briefings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
  • Previous leadership experience in a team setting preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications Must be able to complete upon hire:
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED (Red Cross certifications)
  • FEMA Emergency Management certifications
  • AZ Guard Card written examination Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of customer service best practices.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with the public, colleagues, and volunteers.
  • Familiarity with security systems such as CCTV, alarm monitoring, and fire systems.
  • Ability to learn and apply CPR, AED, First Aid, and emergency evacuation procedures.
