Music Teacher 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars White Lake, MI 48386 Archdiocese of Detroit 29 reviews Saint Patrick White Lake Music Teacher Position Saint Patrick in White Lake is seeking a qualified Music Teacher for Kindergarten through 8th grade. An ideal candidate will hold high academic and behavioral standards for students through positive classroom management. Shared Time Position This position is a Shared Time position with Clarkston Schools. Along with Saint Patrick scheduling and responsibilities, the individual would also report attendance and have observations conducted through Clarkston Public Schools.
Position Overview:
The Music Teacher will provide engaging and developmentally appropriate music instruction for students in grades K-8. Responsibilities include teaching general music classes K-5, band classes 5-8, and additional electives courses for 6-8 which could include choir, ukulele, music appreciation, or other music class that could be determined by new teacher. Other responsibilities include coordinating concerts, fostering student participation in the performing arts, and directing an after-school drama program.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Teach general music classes for Kindergarten-8th grade students Direct and develop the school band program Coordinate and prepare students for the annual Christmas concert and Spring concert. Support other teacher/school programs that may include music aspects. Incorporate music theory, appreciation, performance, and creativity into instruction. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parents to support student growth. Maintain classroom materials and instruments while being respectful of a shared space with evening church groups.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in education from an accredited university. State of Michigan Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education.
