Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable music teachers to join our music school. Instructors will work with students in a supportive, professional, and encouraging environment to help them develop musical skills, confidence, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for music. We welcome applicants with experience teaching all instruments and musical areas , including piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, drums, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, voice, singing, opera, musical theater, music theory, ear training, composition, and performance preparation.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and/or small-group music lessons to students of various ages and skill levels Teach proper technique, musical expression, sight-reading, rhythm, theory, and performance skills Prepare students for recitals, auditions, competitions, school music programs, NYSSMA, ABRSM, and other music exams or performances Create a positive, patient, and encouraging learning environment Adapt lessons to each student's age, level, goals, and learning style Communicate student progress to school staff and/or parents as needed Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and consistencyQualifications:
Strong knowledge and proficiency in one or more instruments or vocal areas Prior music teaching, private lesson, classroom, performance, or coaching experience preferred College students, college graduates, professional musicians, certified teachers, and experienced performers are welcome to apply Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient, responsible, and comfortable working with children, teenagers, and/or adults Ability to explain musical concepts clearly and motivate studentsPreferred Qualifications:
Degree or current study in music, music education, vocal performance, instrumental performance, composition, or a related field Experience preparing students for recitals, auditions, NYSSMA, ABRSM, competitions, or school ensemble placements Experience teaching beginner through advanced students Ability to teach multiple instruments or areas is a plusSchedule:
Flexible part-time hours are available. After-school, evening, and/or weekend availability is preferred. About thePosition:
