Job Description

Position Overview Dakota Micro, Inc. — an industry-leading U.S. manufacturer of rugged camera systems for agriculture, construction, and heavy equipment — is hiring a Product Development Specialist / Manufacturing Technician to join our on-site team. This position is ideal for a hands-on, mechanically inclined problem solver who enjoys figuring things out, improving products, and working in a collaborative environment. You don't need an engineering degree — just curiosity, technical know-how, and a drive to make things work better. Recent high school graduates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with internal teams to develop, test, and refine new and existing products Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure efficient product implementation Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues, identifying practical solutions Build, modify, and evaluate prototypes to improve performance and reliability Assist in product sourcing, testing, validation, and quality evaluations and improvements Document findings, processes, and product changes clearly and accurately Provide input on design improvements and cost-effective solutions Help document and refine production processes under
ISO 9001
2015 standards. Maintain company tools, equipment, and test setups. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills - you can build, repair, and figure things out Experience working with tools, equipment, or technical systems Ability to diagnose issues and think critically to resolve them Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Effective communication and ability to work in a team environment Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative Valid driver's license and ability to travel a few days per month. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred (but not required) Experience in product development, manufacturing, or a related field Familiarity with electronics, wiring, or basic engineering concepts Experience with 3D CAD software or technical drawings Experience with FSD and Resin 3D printers Why Join Dakota Micro?
