Duties Help This position is loced in the Ste/Joint Force Headquarters, Adjutant General's Personal Staff, Office of the Inspector General. This position will function as a journeyman level Inspector General (IG) with a focus on investigor duties and responsibilities. The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of specialized technical and investigive work associed with Complaints, Review, and Oversight functions within a ste level IG office. Further, this position will serve as a specialist on both Army and Air issues the Ste level and provide support to the Ste IG in investiging and resolving both Army and Air IG issues. Serves as a specialist to the Ste/JFHQ IG in processing U.S. Army Inspector General Action Requests (IGARs) and U.S. Air Force Complaints in accordance with AR 20-1 and
AFI 90-301
respectively, and other applicable guidance. Independently analyzes each IGAR or complaint to identify specific problem areas, approprie action or resolution stregy to make approprie referrals to another agency for follow-on inquiry/investigion, and provides recommendions for corrective action to the IG in accordance with applicable regulions, higher headquarters policies and procedures, and command guidance. Conducts oversight and quality review for investigions into allegions, ensuring thoroughness, impartiality, and approprieness of any action taken. Incumbent hears a variety of IG complaints, grievances, inquiries, and/or suggestions any time from military members(retired and active), civilians, and dependents. Employee determines the nure of the complaint and the specific issues to be addressed. The incumbent analyzes complaints to discern those th fall under the jurisdiction of the IG office and those th fall within the jurisdiction of other authorities. Incumbent appoints Investiging Officers (IOs) to each complaint. Briefs and instructs IOs regarding mters to be investiged and applicable evidence rules. As a specialist, the incumbent is responsible for the training and execution for access and use of the web-based U.S. Air Force Inspector General Automic Case Tracking System (ACTS III) for reporting and recording Inspector General contacts and complaints, the processing of complaints and the recording of complaint resolution within the Air Force Complaint Resolution Process. Trains ste level Investiging Officers (IOs) to conduct IG investigions and prepare reports or briefings on findings. Provides unit training and guidance to command and personnel on the process and the procedures for filing IG complaints or IGARs. Assists in the establishment and implements the Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) program in accordance with United Stes Army and Air Force Guidance and the applicable requirements and guidelines set out in the Department of Defense (DoD) Hotline program for reporting Fraud,Waste and Abuse complaints. Provides advice on all mters under investigion by the Office of the Ste Inspector General and conducts or oversees investigions, as required, in effecting a resolution for an IG complaint or IGAR. Conducts recurring/special investigions/inquiries, analyses, and studies as required.

Special investigions would include such areas as Intelligence Oversight (IO), Internal Management Control Program (IMCP), Contracting, Environmental Quality Control (EQC),reprisals, or whistle blower cases involving applicable military and civilian personnel and Improper Mental Health Evaluions. Provides assistance and advice to the Ste Inspector General or Adjutant General, as required, on all mters subject to the jurisdiction of the Office of the Ste Inspector and as directed by the Adjutant General. Evalues unit training and provides confidential observions regarding unit performance to commanders, Ste Inspector General, and the Adjutant General. Provides assistance with Privacy Act mters reling to the Ste Nional Guard in the IG office, which includes Freedom of Informion Act responsibilities. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must have 36 months work experiences in technical inspection methods, principles and practices in order to recognize and resolve discrepancies and experienced in modifying established approaches, methods, or procedures to improve da ghering and analysis techniques and experience in working with pertinent laws, regulions, policies, and precedents which affect the use of the Inspector General Programs. Relocion Incentive :
An authorized management official approves a relocion incentives paid in accordance with this volume to a current federal employee who must reloce, without a break in service, to accept a position in a different geographic area. Employee must establish a new residence in the new geographical area and maintain residency for the durion of service agreement. Employee must have a current and "Fully Successful" performance appraisal immediely prior to the move.
