Job Description

NNMC, Two (2) NPSC for RN Services for the MCH Pediatrics Department

NORTH, Shiprock, NM 87420 $182,000 a year $182,000 a year We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide nursing services for the Maternal-Child Health and Pediatric patients within the Indian Health Service (IHS) Navajo Area. This role is vital in supporting the IHS mission to provide culturally acceptable, comprehensive health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality clinical care while acting as a compassionate advocate for children and their families.
Location:
Northern Navajo Medical Center (Shiprock, NM), with potential floating to Four Corners Regional Health Center and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 08:00 AM to 4:30 PM (No weekends or holidays).
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care:
Perform admissions, physical exams, developmental screenings, and assessments for pediatric patients.
Prenatal and Postpartum Care:
Monitoring maternal and fetal health, managing postpartum recovery, and performing cesarean wound care.
Newborn Care and Assessment:
Assessing infant health, including conducting screenings, bilirubin, and administering immunizations.
Education and Support:
Educating parents on breastfeeding, newborn nutrition, child development, and providing support for postpartum anxiety or depression.
Community Health Promotion:
Conducting home visits, connecting families with resources, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Clinical Coordination:
Collaborating with physicians, midwives, and pediatricians to create comprehensive treatment plans.
Required Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of total nursing experience, with at least two (2) years specifically in pediatric care.
Licensure:
Must possess a current, valid, and unrestricted nursing license from any US State, District of Columbia, or Territory.
Skills:
Strong communication, clinical assessment abilities, empathy, and knowledge of infant development.
