Job Description

Join us as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the White River Junction VA Medical Center located in White River Junction, VT.
  • 1099 and W-2 employment options available:
  • W2: includes access to full Monterey Medical employee benefits but lower overall pay rate.
  • 1099: Higher pay rates in lieu of employee benefits.
Duties include:
  • Preparing contrast materials under direction of the radiologist for the purpose of performing exams.
  • Be continuously alert to patients' conditions and other disorders.
  • Performing GI bleed, cardiac stress test, bone scans, hida scans, datscans, GI emptying, parathyroid, lung perfusion and ventilation scans, and more.
  • Record all doses of medication.
  • Receive and interpret all radiology requests for accuracy, appropriateness, date desired, and maintain thorough knowledge of the CPRS ordering process.
  • Review radiology order screening information.
  • Input pertinent information into designated computer systems.
  • Capable of registering, completing, canceling, and editing exams.
  • Performs and completes imaging studies within established guidelines for stat, preop, urgent, and routine exams.
  • Ensure quality of radiographic exams.
  • Ensure timely accomplishment of assigned workload, optimizing appointment times while maintaining flexibility for emergency cases.
  • Apply sterile techniques and infection control procedures for patients and staff.
  • Equipment maintenance, adjustments, and repairs.
Schedule:
Full-time, hours consist of day, evening, overnight, and weekend rotations. 8 or 12hr shifts. No holiday, on-call, or overtime expected.
Period of Performance:
12-month base period 6/1/2026-5/31/2027 w/ four 12-month renewal options for a possible total of 5 years through 5/31/2031.
Qualifications:
Education. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree in Radiology Technology or related field preferred. Certification. All applicants must be certified in nuclear medicine technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N). NMTCB or ARRT (N). BLS required. Experience. Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technology experience preferred. No sponsorship available. Must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.j. Subject to background/security investigation. Must pass TB test. Complete an online onboarding process. Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and
COVID-19.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.
