Nurse Manager

General Position Description The Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating nursing activities on the facility-based crisis units. This position ensures that patient care is delivered in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner, aligning with agency policies and regulatory requirements. The Nurse Manager plays a vital role in staff development, performance management, budget control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Performance Expectations and Competencies:

Leadership & Staff Management

• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and medication administrated trained staffed
• Develop work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet patient needs.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate departmental goals and discuss unit operations.
• Mentor and guide nursing staff to foster professional growth and a positive work environment. Clinical Oversight & Patient Care
• Oversee patient care activities to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with healthcare standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Address and resolve patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Ensure that nursing practices meet the standards for patient satisfaction and healthcare delivery. Resource Management
• Ensure efficient use of resources.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and other resources.
• Assist in the procurement of necessary equipment, and ensure that all resources are used cost-effectively. Quality Improvement & Compliance
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and accreditation standards.
• Monitor and report on clinical metrics and patient outcomes.
• Implement evidence-based practices and continuous improvement processes. Administrative Responsibilities
• Develop and implement policies and procedures within the unit to support best practices.
• Participate in agency committees and strategic planning sessions. Professional Development
• Encourage continuing education and professional development among nursing staff.
• Stay updated on nursing practices, healthcare trends, and regulatory changes.
• Attend workshops, conferences, and other professional events to enhance managerial skills.

Work Environment:

• This role is within the crisis department which operates 24/7. The Nurse Manager may be required to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to oversee operations and respond to urgent needs. Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.

Licensure:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Pay:

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
