This vital role involves overseeing patient care delivery, supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes exceptional patient outcomes. Duties Lead and supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development to ensure high-quality patient care. Oversee daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal resource utilization. Coordinate patient assessments, medical documentation, and medical records management using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and safety standards across all nursing activities. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare providers to develop comprehensive discharge planning, care plans, and treatment strategies. Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives aligned with accreditation requirements. Participate in utilization review, case management, and utilization management processes to optimize patient care pathways and resource allocation. Manage emergency situations. Function as "hands-on" team member in all nursing areas on an as needed basis. Ensure adequate daily staffing. Promote a culture of excellence by fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning among staff members. Qualifications Valid RN license with current state licensure; BSN or higher degree preferred. Previous Nurse Management experience, preferable 2 years.
BLS & ACLS
Required Extensive clinical experience in acute care settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or surgical units; critical care experience highly valued. Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing management or team leadership roles. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems; strong medical documentation skills. Familiarity with infection control practices and medication administration protocols. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments involving vital signs, physical examinations, anatomy knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA laws; commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment. Experience with QAPI meetings and working with accreditation board a plus.
